Description
Summary:Background: Direct visualization of the biliary and pancreatic ducts may be beneficial in targeting tissue biopsies and electrohydraulic lithotripsy (EHL). However, cholangiopancreatoscopy has infrequently been performed due to technical limitations. The SpyGlass Direct Visualization System™ (Boston Scientific Corp., Natick, MA) is a reusable device designed for 4-way deflected steering by a single operator. Tissue biopsies can be obtained via the accessory channel and EHL may be performed via the irrigation channel.
