| description | Business ethics is one of the most discussed topics in this millennium, and one of the most conflicting subjects. Unfortunately, people nowadays believe that ethics is not related to any type of religion, but is a habit gained from culture, family upbringing and society. This study is exploratory in nature and assesses the notion related to the absence of the true meaning of religion and how people separate ethics from religion. A survey questionnaire is used to collect data to assess respondents’ knowledge, attitude, and demographics. This paper is an investigative review of how religion affects the behavior of people working in places that are more often exposed to unethical practices. This research assesses business ethics within the context of Islam in banking and insurance sectors in Syria. The expected outcome is to add to the existing literature that addresses ethics as an essential part of religion. |
