description So far most of the GSM operators worldwide have employed the GPS technology mainly for providing Vehicle Tracking services/systems (VTS). However, they have never offered any solution for DGPS. Mainly, in such systems, only GPS data will be reported to central station for monitoring and displaying vehicles on GIS maps. Consequently the positions monitored will not be differentiated and will still convey the original GPS errors and inaccuracies. Alternatively, a real-time DGPS solution would be superior for VTS.s since it will enhance the accuracy and precision of such systems. On the other hand, GPS users are always interested and looking forward for a cheap, practical and global real- time DGPS solution for both surveying and mapping GPS applications. In this paper, a new real-time DGPS solution/system is introduced based on any of the available 2.5G/3G mobile communication media and Client-Server applications for sending and receiving DGPS correction messages. The proposed solution/system can be referred to as .Real-time Differential GPS through the 2.5G/3G Mobile Communication Media. and namely .G-DGPS. or GPRS-based real-time Differential GPS. An experimental example is added to illustrate the functionality of the proposed methodology.
