Summary:The knowledge-based economy is a reality. Today’s global economy categorizes knowledge as the most important corporate asset as it improves an organization’s fundamental ability to compete. Higher education institutions are no different in this respect. We present an overview of knowledge management. We focus our discussion on two major American Lebanese Universities to describe their KM initiatives and stages of implementation. Finally, we discuss the findings of the study and their implications.
