description The study examined gender-based discrimination facing Arab women journalists and news managers, especially in their pursuit of leadership positions. It assessed how domestic pressures, gender norms, and corporate policies limit women journalists’ prospects for advancement and career longevity. It surveyed 308 journalists and news managers, both men and women, from various news outlets and examined their attitudes toward career trajectory, workplace practices, newsroom culture, and domestic responsibilities. The findings point to manifestations of simultaneous sticky floors and glass ceilings, where women face a pay gap and are tethered to their inequitable domestic responsibilities.
