Summary:This paper tests the growth of population on the determinants of Human Development Index (HDI). The HDI is a composite index constructed from measures of life expectancy, education and per capita income. This paper reviews the literature on population growth and using those arguments tries to find any link between population growth and HDI for Middle Eastern countries. Implications for policy makers are discussed.
