| Summary: |
This paper presents a systematic micromagnetic modeling study on recording characteristics in heat assisted magnetic recording. Utilizing a novel micromagnetic model developed based on the L1 0 ordering atomic structure of the FePt grains, the study shows that the medium noise caused by grain-to-grain Curie temperature variations can be effectively suppressed with sufficiently high thermal recording gradient along with sufficient head field amplitude. The rest of the paper focuses on the thermal noise and its correlations with various recording parameters.

Other Information

Published in: IEEE Transactions on Magnetics
License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
See article on publisher's website: https://dx.doi.org/10.1109/tmag.2023.3315285
|
