| الملخص: | <p dir="ltr"><b>This conference contribution was presented by Yaseen Muhammed, Pondicherry Central University. India, (International Conference on Debate and Dialogue. An Initiative of QatarDebate 2025).</b></p><p dir="ltr">This paper examines the democratic credentials of Youth Parliaments (YPs), focusing on India's YP2019 initiative. YPs aim to enhance civic engagement and institutional legitimacy by providing youth with platforms for political participation. This study argues that YPs, especially in India foster the youths, significantly contribute to democratic engagement by fostering dialogue and critical argumentation. Using a case study approach, including surveys from YP2019 participants in Ernakulum, Kerala, this paper evaluates the program's effectiveness in youth democratic engagement through competitive debates.
