Summary:<p dir="ltr">Here we extended our study to dinucleotide two repeat units (D2Us) of AT/TA and CG/GC compositions, and investigated colonization of these units (distance between consecutive units <500 bp) across the human genome. We optimized the extraction algorithm to exclude isolate instances of D2Us, and included the basic overlapping units of D2Us, i.e., 3-repeat units (D3Us), consisting of TATATA, ATATAT, CGCGCG, and GCGCGC. We also studied several of the largest colonies across 100 vertebrates, using the UCSC and ENSEMBL Genome Browsers.</p>
