Description
Summary:Distributed-lumped parameter modelling methods are employed in the analysis of manufacturing machine drives comprising rotors, bearings and shaft arrangements for variable speed process systems. Analysis procedures enabling the computation of the torsional shear stress and velocity response of these systems are outlined and block diagram representations are formulated. The dynamic stresses for machine drive arrangements following deterministic input changes are computed. Typical rotor-shaft assemblies are investigated illustrating the peak stress levels encountered
