As such, the current paper key seeks to investigate the extent and the key success factors of PPP in UAE. For key aims of this research as it sought to investigate the research questions and deliver on the research objectives: i. To explore the concept of public-private partnerships in UAE. ii. To investigate the key factors that lead to the success of PPP in the country. the current research adopted the research onion model to conduct the data with the key objective of answering the research question. After Analyzing and reporting on the results, it emerged that the different factors had more influence on some players than the others. For the government, technological and managerial success factors were the key motivation in joining PPPs. Such is the case since most government institutions are unable to keep with technology changes and have weak management structures hence the need to partners and benefit from the private sector that excels in the two factors. On the other hand, the private sector key motivation of entering into PPP was driven by the regulatory and financial consideration that have a huge impact on their ability to operate with the needed flexibility. As such, it is the role of the private sector to improve their managerial and technological prowess whereas the government pursue fair and robust regulations and provide the needed huge capital outlay to encourage private sector partner with the government to realize the goal of improved service delivery to the people of UAE. |
