Summary:This dissertation examines the potential conflict between standard construction contract clauses on termination for convenience and the UAE Civil Code provisions which could override them. Is there a loophole for Contractors to exploit when terminated for Convenience? Is it lawful for an employer to terminate a contract essentially because the financing is not available or simply because the project is no longer feasible? The study will involve a critical analysis of the local law provisions in relation to terminating construction projects with respect to standard industry norms.
