description The purpose of this research is to formulate an information security framework particularly built for the geospatial data and systems in Abu Dhabi governmental entities, taking into consideration the nature and complexity of the geospatial data, techniques required to achieve the security requirements, as well as the influence of users’ attitudes and their perceptions about geospatial data security. This research is based on a mixed research methodology; which combines both quantitative and qualitative analysis in order to validate the research’s conceptual model, hypothesis, and answer the research questions. Data collection is based on a close-ended-questions survey to users dealing with the geospatial data and an open-ended-questions interview to representatives from AD-SDI governmental entities. In the conclusion of this research, the proposed security framework is validated and insights are provided on the importance of the behavioural attitude and perceptions of the users in studied organisations towards implementing the geospatial security framework in Abu Dhabi government. Moreover, the research recommends some measures to improve the security of geospatial data in the AD-SDI community and direct them towards secure geospatial data sharing.
