Airflow dynamics in an emergency department: A CFD simulation study to analyse COVID-19 dispersion
Published 2021“…The analysis revealed that three critical areas of the emergency department, namely overnight patient beds, operating rooms, and resuscitation rooms, had significantly higher air velocity, dispersion, and mixing levels than the rest of the department's spaces. According to the two scenarios examined, the possibility of air transmission from these locations to neighboring areas becomes apparent, increasing the likelihood of transmitting the virus from these locations and infecting people in the adjacent areas, including patients and health care providers. …”

Effects of visual field impairment on driving
Published 2015“…Reaction time for double stimuli trials was 15% longer (1,68s vs. 1.46s) and hit rate was 27% less (69% vs. 88%). When the results from a secondary trial for drivers visual impairments were compared the normal sighted drivers’ first try the differences decreased but were still statistical significant. …”

The growing burden of gestational diabetes
Published 2015“…Their analysis revealed that, despite the known risks to mothers and their babies, there are major global variations in screening and diagnosis of the condition, and also in long-term follow-up of affected women. Mirroring the rest of the world, prevalence of GDM both between and within the Gulf countries ranges from as low as 4.2% in Oman to nearly 25% in the United Arab Emirates, and this may reflect both the increasing multi-racial population in the region due to economic migration and differences in screening and diagnostic methods across the countries. …”
