Surgical Strategies for Synchronous Colorectal Liver Metastases in 156 Consecutive Patients
Published 2015“…The main limitation of this strategy is that it can be offered only in selected patients with synchronous disease,5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 and it is associated with an increased risk of postoperative complications when major liver resection is combined with resection of the primary tumor.11, 12 and 13 Recently, a “reverse strategy,” in which preoperative chemotherapy is followed by resection of the CLM and then by resection of the colorectal primary at a second operation, has been proposed for patients with advanced synchronous CLM, and in particular, for patients in whom the primary is located in the rectum.14 The rationale for the reverse strategy is 2-fold: primary-related complications (such as bleeding, obstruction, or perforation) are rare in patients with stage IV colorectal cancer receiving combination chemotherapy15 and 16 and treatment of the metastatic disease is not delayed by local therapy for the primary tumor (surgery, and in the case of rectal cancer, radiotherapy or radiochemotherapy) or by complications of surgical treatment of the primary tumor. …”

A combined experimental and computational study of the effect of electron irradiation on the transport properties of aromatic and aliphatic molecular self-assemblies
Published 2022“…<p dir="ltr">Intermolecular cross-linking through electron irradiation is proven to be an effective tool to improve the mechanical and electronic properties of molecular self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), which is known to be a key player for material nanoarchitectonics. Here we study the effect of electron irradiation on the electronic transport properties of aromatic 5,5′-bis(mercaptomethyl)-2,2′-bipyridine (BPD; HS-CH2-(C5H3N)2-CH2-SH) and electron saturated 1-dodecanethiol (C12; CH3-(CH2)11-SH) molecules self-assembled on an Au (111) surface. …”

Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel using Potato Peel Extract in 2M HCl Solution
Published 2011“…A reasonable corrosion inhibition level was obtained at a concentration of 50 ppm (>70% inhibition efficiency). Nyquist plots from Impedance data showed that upon increasing the PPE concentration, the charge transfer resistance increased and the doubled layer capacitance decreased. …”

Association Between Three-Months Vitamin D Supplementation and Depressive Symptomatology incidence among Saudi Arabian Adults
Published 2022“…The mean baseline 25(OH)D3 concentration was 16.92±7.23ng/ml in the vitamin D group and 16.44±5.91 ng/ml in the control group (p =0.76). At baseline, when adjusting for age and gender only, we observed that lower vitamin D serum levels were associated with higher depression prevalence. …”

Recyclable polyaspartate-coated magnetic nanoparticles for sustainable control of calcite and barite scales in oilfield operations
Published 2026“…Dynamic tube-blocking tests at 100 °C and 1000 psi further confirm effective scaling suppression for 60 min at 50 ppm, demonstrating that immobilization of PASP on a magnetic carrier preserves its intrinsic inhibitory function while enabling recyclable deployment not achievable with free PASP. …”

Processing Effects on the Oxytetracycline and Tylosin Antibiotic Residues in Middle Eastern Dairy Products
Published 2020“…Curding step had a significant (p=0.028) effect on OTC only with the concentration increasing by almost 1.5 folds. Acidification and heating of whey to produce Double Cream decreased significantly (p=0.037) OTC concentration by 14.7 to 46.3%, while TYL concentration increased significantly (p=0.000) by 300%. …”

Oxygen targets following cardiac arrest: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Published 2023“…Our primary outcome was all-cause mortality at 90 days while our secondary outcomes were the level of neuron-specific enolase (NSE) at 48 h, ICU length of stay (LOS), and favorable neurological outcome (the proportion of patients with Cerebral Performance Category scores of 1–2 at end of follow-up). We used RevMan 5.4 to pool risk ratios (RRs) and mean differences (MDs).…”
