Long-term effects on the incidence of second primary cancers in a randomized trial of two and five years of adjuvant tamoxifen
Published 2017“…</p> <p><b>Results:</b> Compared to patients randomized to two years of tamoxifen the incidence of contralateral breast cancer [hazard ratio (HR) 0.73; 95% CI 0.56–0.96] and of lung cancer (HR 0.45; 95% CI 0.27–0.77), especially squamous cell and small cell lung cancer, were reduced in the five-year group, and similar results were seen when restricting the analysis to the 10-year period after treatment stopped. An increased incidence of endometrial cancer was observed in the five-year group, but the excess risk decreased over time.…”

Impact of diurnal unsymmetrical warming on soil respiration in an agroecological system of the Lhasa region
Published 2019“…The effects of DW and NW on soil respiration sensitivity (<i>Q</i>10) during the daytime and nighttime were different; they had no effects on daytime <i>Q</i>10 of <i>R</i>s, but a significant inhibitory effect on nighttime <i>Q</i>10 of <i>R</i>s.…”

Image_2_Automated High-Definition MRI Processing Routine Robustly Detects Longitudinal Morphometry Changes in Alzheimer’s Disease Patients.TIF
Published 2022“…However, manual longitudinal image assessments are time consuming and conventional assessment routines often deliver unsatisfying study outcomes. Here, we propose a profound analysis pipeline that consists of the following coordinated steps: (1) an automated and highly precise image processing stream including voxel and surface based morphometry using latest highly detailed brain atlases such as the HCP MMP 1.0 atlas with 360 cortical ROIs; (2) a profound statistical assessment using a multiplicative model of annual percent change (APC); and (3) a multiple testing correction adopted from genome-wide association studies that is optimally suited for longitudinal neuroimaging studies. …”

Training at maximal power in resisted sprinting: Optimal load determination methodology and pilot results in team sport athletes
Published 2018“…<div><p>Aims</p><p>In the current study we investigated the effects of resisted sprint training on sprinting performance and underlying mechanical parameters (force-velocity-power profile) based on two different training protocols: (i) loads that represented maximum power output (<i>L</i>opt) and a 50% decrease in maximum unresisted sprinting velocity and (ii) lighter loads that represented a 10% decrease in maximum unresisted sprinting velocity, as drawn from previous research (<i>L</i>10).…”
