Molecular and Peritoneal Microvascular Changes Cause Peritoneal Membrane Dysfunction by Uremia-Related Mechanisms
Published 2016“…In addition, Enos was found to be upregulated in the experimental groups, as compared with the naïve controls. Conclusions Four major conclusions were drawn from this study. 1) Aging is an independent risk factor for peritoneal microvascular endothelial cell dysfunction; 2) indwelling peritoneal catheter placement compounds a pre-existing age-related endothelial cell dysfunction; 3) Uremia unlike reduction in renal mass and injury causes marked peritoneal microvascular endothelial cell dysfunction as proven by the measurement of proteins involved in the vasodilation and angiogenesis pathways; 4) Uremia unlike aging or indwelling peritoneal catheter enhances the basic permeably of the peritoneal membrane for small solute transport.…”

Does Securitisation Make Monetary Policy Less Effective?
Published 2021“…We empirically investigate the interactions between securitisation activities and monetary policy using data from 1995 to 2015 for a panel of 10 European countries. We employ a panel VAR model, and estimate it using a GMM system. …”

Sulforaphane reduces obesity by reversing leptin resistance.
Published 2022“…The ascending prevalence of obesity in recent decades is commonly associated with soaring morbidity and mortality rates, resulting in increased health-care costs and decreased quality of life. A systemic state of stress characterized by low-grade inflammation and pathological formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) usually manifests in obesity. …”

Ni-P-TiO2 Composite coatings on copper produced by sol-enhanced electroplating
Published 2014“…Ni-P-TiO2 composite coatings were prepared on copper substrate by TiO2 sol-enhanced electroplating. A systematic study of Ni-P-X coatings with different sol concentrations (TiO2 concentration X from 0 to 50 mL/L) has been conducted in order to understand the effect of TiO2 sol addition and the strengthening mechanism. …”

Omega-3 fatty acid-rich fish oil supplementation prevents rosiglitazone-induced osteopenia in aging mice
Published 2021“…Rosiglitazone is an effective insulin-sensitizer, however, associated with bone loss mainly due to increased bone resorption, and bone marrow adiposity, and decreased bone formation. We investigated the effect of the co-administration of fish oil (FO) rich in omega-3 fatty acids (FAs) on rosiglitazone (RSG)-induced bone loss in aging C57BL/6 mice and the mechanisms underlying potential preventive effect. …”
