Trends in corneal transplantation from 2001 to 2016 in Brazil
Published 2018“…The analysis showed that there was a 2.4-fold increase in the number of corneal transplantations (from 6,193 [35.2 per million people (pmp)] to 14,641 [71 pmp]; p<0.001), a 50.7% increase in the efficacy of meeting the population’s demand for corneal transplantation (from 35.3% to 53.2%; p<0.001), an 11-fold increase in the number of corneal transplantation centers (from 32 to 356), and a 2.5-fold increase in the number of corneal transplantation teams (from 276 to 688) in Brazil during the period studied. …”

Effect of Squeeze Casting on Microhardness and Microstructure of Al-3Cu-xSi Alloy
Published 2019“…This process provides changes in the microstructure which lead to changes in the mechanical properties of the material such as the increase in the microhardness of the processed alloy. alloys Al-5,5% Si-3% Cu, Al-7,5% Si-3% and Al-9% Si-3% Cu alloys were solidified by the squeeze casting process to analyze the microstructural and microhardness variations. Pressures of 0 MPa, 50 MPa, 100 MPa and 150 Mpa were used. In general, with increasing pressure and composition, the λ2 values decrease from the metal/mold interface, especially at pressures of 150 MPa and Composition of 9%Si, on the other hand the increase of these variables leads to the formation of more phases Al2Cu metastable that have a decrease in the Microhardness of the material, in addition to the formation of other phases due to the proximity to the eutetic.…”

Table 1_Species diversity and risk factors of gastrointestinal nematodes in smallholder dairy calves in Kenya.docx
Published 2025“…Species identification was achieved through deep amplicon sequencing of the Internal Transcribed Spacer-2 rDNA locus (ITS-2) of first-stage larvae (L1). The mean eggs per gram (EPG) was 62.0 ± 93.0. Most of the calves 64.2% had low-intensity infections (<50 EPG), 28.6% had medium-intensity infections (50–200 EPG), and 7.2% had high-intensity infections (>200 EPG). …”
