Battery Energy Management Techniques for an Electric Vehicle Traction System by AbdelAziz, Ahmed Sayed AbdelAal

    Published 2022
“…Furthermore, this work utilizes a model-in-loop strategy comprising a Chen and Mora (CM) battery model and the experimentally obtained battery bank power consumption to estimate the increase in battery bank runtime and lifetime. A real-time implementation is carried out on a prototype EV traction system using the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC) and the Supplemental Federal Test Procedure (US06) drive cycles. …”

Spatiotemporal Dynamics of β-Adrenergic cAMP Signals and L-Type Ca2+ Channel Regulation in Adult Rat Ventricular Myocytes by Leroy, Jerome

    Published 2008
“…Steady-state activation of cardiac β-adrenergic receptors leads to an intracellular compartmentation of cAMP resulting from localized cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) activity. To evaluate the time course of the cAMP changes in the different compartments, brief (15 seconds) pulses of isoprenaline (100 nmol/L) were applied to adult rat ventricular myocytes (ARVMs) while monitoring cAMP changes beneath the membrane using engineered cyclic nucleotide-gated channels and within the cytosol with the fluorescence resonance energy transfer–based sensor, Epac2-camps. cAMP kinetics in the two compartments were compared to the time course of the L-type Ca2+ channel current (ICa,L) amplitude. …”

Why do some countries produce more capital intensive output than others? by Toukan, Amjad

    Published 2016
“…Based on my model I offer an explanation for the variation in physical capital intensity across countries where the model predictions show that a lower quality of governance in a country results in a decrease in the output of capital-intensive goods and an increase in the output of labor-intensive goods. In conducting panel data regressions (17 developing countries and 23 OECD countries over a period of twelve years 1982-1995), controlling for time and country fixed effects as well as quality of governance, I find a positive and statistically significant relationship between the Bureaucratic Efficiency Index (the higher the Bureaucratic Efficiency Index the higher the quality of governance) and the ratio of the value added share of capital intensive goods to the value added share of labor intensive goods. …”
