Characterization of the potency and mechanism of action of a novel dual-selective intermolecularly complemented version of Anthrax Lethal Toxin (PAU2R200A- PAL1I207R/FP59) in Acute...
Published 2023“…We showed evidence that PAU2R200A/FP59, from the IMC variant, induced a cytotoxic response that matched the pattern of IMC/FP59, as such indicating that uPA/uPAR is the rate limiting factor in the activation of IMC/FP59.In addition, staining for Annexin V/PI post IMC/FP59 treatment showed an increase in double positive cells indicating non-apoptotic cell death. …”

Effect of nickel loading on hydrogen production and chemical oxygen demand (COD) destruction from glucose oxidation and gasification in supercritical water
Published 2010“…The carbon monoxide and methane yields remain constant at 2 and 0.5 mol/mol glucose, respectively. The introduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) prior to the feed injection inhibited the catalyst activity and did not increase the hydrogen yield whereas the introduction of H2O2 after 15 min of reaction time increased the hydrogen yield from 0.62 mol/mol to 1.5 mol/mol. …”

Effectiveness of Positron Emission Tomography for Predicting Chemotherapy Response in Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastases
Published 2010“…For example, a few years ago an extrahepatic metastasis effectively eliminated surgical resection, but a combination of chemotherapeutic options and surgical techniques has expanded the indications for resection and increased the population of patients who may benefit.1,2 Neoadjuvant chemotherapy has increased the resectability rate by 11% to 37%.1 Unfortunately, greater than 80% of patients undergoing hepatic resection will have recurrences, mostly within the first 2 years.2 Nonetheless, the only hope for cure is resection, and prior surgical dogma based on the number of lesions, size of the tumor-free resection margin, and presence of resectable extrahepatic disease must be questioned.3- 5 The current standard approach to surgical planning is contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for specific tumor characteristics or contraindications to CT.6 Several series showed that focal extrahepatic disease, an isolated pulmonary lesion, can be safely resected, with 5-year survival rates of 29% to 58%.7,8 In 1 series,7 17 of 30 patients required 3 or more resections. …”
