Global burden and strength of evidence for 88 risk factors in 204 countries and 811 subnational locations, 1990–2021: a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2...
Published 2024“…For younger demographics (ie, those aged 0–4 years and 5–14 years), risks such as low birthweight and short gestation and unsafe water, sanitation, and handwashing (WaSH) were among the leading risk factors, while for older age groups, metabolic risks such as high SBP, high body-mass index (BMI), high FPG, and high LDL cholesterol had a greater impact. From 2000 to 2021, there was an observable shift in global health challenges, marked by a decline in the number of all-age DALYs broadly attributable to behavioural risks (decrease of 20·7% [13·9–27·7]) and environmental and occupational risks (decrease of 22·0% [15·5–28·8]), coupled with a 49·4% (42·3–56·9) increase in DALYs attributable to metabolic risks, all reflecting ageing populations and changing lifestyles on a global scale. …”

Mapping geographical inequalities in childhood diarrhoeal morbidity and mortality in low-income and middle-income countries, 2000–17: analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Stud...
Published 2020“…Findings The greatest declines in diarrhoeal mortality were seen in south and southeast Asia and South America, where 54·0% (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 38·1–65·8), 17·4% (7·7–28·4), and 59·5% (34·2–86·9) of units, respectively, recorded decreases in deaths from diarrhoea greater than 10%. …”

Age–sex differences in the global burden of lower respiratory infections and risk factors, 1990–2019: results from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019
Published 2022“…During the same period, LRI episodes and deaths in children younger than 15 years were estimated to have decreased, and the greatest decline was observed for LRI deaths in males younger than 5 years (–70·7% [–77·2 to –61·8]). …”

A prospective evaluation of antral follicle function in women with 46,XX spontaneous primary ovarian insufficiency
Published 2010“…Result(s) Antral follicles ≥3 mm were detected in 73% (69/95) of patients; both serum estradiol and progesterone levels correlated significantly with maximum follicle diameter in these women. Patients with a maximum follicle diameter ≥8 mm had significantly higher serum estradiol and progesterone levels and significantly lower FSH and LH levels compared with patients without such follicles. …”

Effect of structural remodeling (retraction and recoil) of the pipeline embolization device on aneurysm occlusion rate
Published 2014“…RESULTS: Structural changes of the device have been observed, and it was found that the Pipeline Embolization Device influences the vessel curvature in some cases. On average, it increases its diameter by 0.23 mm and decreases its length by 2.88 mm within 6 months of initial deployment. …”
