Phase transitions of nanoemulsions using ultrasound: Experimental observations
Published 2012“…Additionally, as the size of the emulsion droplet increased, the intensity required for bubble formation decreased. As expected, perfluorohexane emulsions require greater intensity to form cavitating bubbles than perfluoropentane emulsions.…”

Channel Network Control on Seasonal Lake Area Dynamics in Arctic Deltas
Published 2020“…We find that monthly shrinkage rates have a pronounced structured variability around the channel network with the shrinkage rate systematically decreasing farther away from the channels. This pattern of shrinkage is predominantly attributed to a deeper active layer enhancing near-surface connectivity and storage and greater vegetation density closer to the channels leading to increased evapotranspiration rates. …”

Photostimulation of Phox2b medullary neurons activates cardiorespiratory function in conscious rats
Published 2010“…RVLM photostimulation significantly increased breathing rate (+42%), tidal volume (21%), minute volume (68%), and peak expiratory flow (48%). Photostimulation increased diaphragm EMG amplitude (19%) and frequency (21%). …”

An additive manufacturing approach based on electrohydrodynamic printing to fabricate P3HT:PCBM thin films
Published 2023“…The films exhibited a broad visible absorption spectrum ranging from ~ 340 to ~ 600 nm, with a maximum peak λmax located at ~ 500 nm. As the annealing temperature and the flow rate were increased, discernible alterations in the PCBM clusters were consequently observed in the blends of the film and the size of the PCBM clusters has decreased by 3% while the distance between them was highly reduced by as much as 82%.…”

Acute intense fatigue does not modify the effect of EVA and TPU custom foot orthoses on running mechanics, running economy and perceived comfort
Published 2022“…Flight time shortened (P = 0.026), peak braking (P = 0.016) and push-off (P = 0.032) forces decreased and vertical stiffness increased (P = 0.014) from before to after the repeated-sprint exercise, independent of footwear condition. …”

Custom foot orthoses improve performance, but do not modify the biomechanical manifestation of fatigue, during repeated treadmill sprints
Published 2022“…In the horizontal direction, peak propulsive (<i>P</i> < 0.001), but not braking (<i>P</i> = 0.172), forces also decreased from sprint 1 to sprint 8, independently of conditions.…”

Slater to Mott Crossover in the Metal to Insulator Transition of Nd2Ir2O7
Published 2016“…Upon cooling below the transition temperature, this compound exhibits a gap opening with an energy shift of quasiparticle peaks like a band gap insulator. The quasiparticle peaks are strongly suppressed, however, with further decrease of temperature, and eventually vanish at the lowest temperature, leaving a nondispersive flat band lacking long-lived electrons. …”

Arginine Deprivation in AML Cells Induces Ferroptosis, a Type of Autophagy-Mediated Cell Death
Published 2023“…This involvement of ROS is confirmed with the gradual increase in intracellular ROS levels, reaching a peak at 48 hours after treatment. This is followed by an increase in lipid peroxidation which peaks at later timepoints and varies between different cell lines. …”

Effects of natural organic matter on aggregation kinetics of boron nanoparticles in monovalent and divalent electrolytes
Published 2010“…However, the attachment efficiency kept increasing in the presence of CaCl2 and alginate with the increase in the electrolyte concentration and was greater than unity at >4 mM CaCl2. The destabilization was attributed to bridging of the nanoparticles by the alginate–Ca2+ system. …”
