Description
Summary:This paper examines the current structure of the Lebanese electric power sector and proposes a number of alternatives for unbundling the traditional services of generation, transmission and distribution. The proposed alternatives are assessed in terms of their advantages, disadvantages and feasibility. It is found that the overriding problem is the small size of the system, which means that the feasible number of separate generation and distribution companies is likely to be small and hence unattractive to private investors.
