Positive predictive values (PPVs) of the register-based algorithms to identify individuals with poststroke epilepsy (PSE). All algorithms required (i) a diagnostic code for stroke as primary diagnosis during inpatient care, (ii) at least one occurrence of a disease or symptom code for seizures (ICD-10: G40, G41 or R56.8) more than seven days after stroke admission, and (iii) no registrations of seizure-related diagnostic codes prior to the stroke.
