| Summary: | <p dir="ltr">Digitised copy of a 19<sup>th</sup> century playbill for a performance of "The Liars" by Henry Arthur Jones in York in the week beginning Monday 25th September, 1899. </p><p dir="ltr">This playbill was digitised as part of the York Playbills project, commencing in 2009. Within the City of York there are a number of collections of playbills which were published to accompany productions at theatres which were part of the 'York Circuit'. This initially included the York, Hull, Leeds, Wakefield, Doncaster and Pontefract Theatres. 19<sup>th</sup> century playbills from the Yorkshire Theatres are deposited with York City Archive, although there are gaps in the collection from the latter part of the century.</p> |
